Join FWD-Doc’s community of disabled and allied filmmakers!

Our community is dedicated to sharing opportunities, building connections, offering help, and advocating for accessibility and representation across the film and media landscape. We are 1,300 creative people across 37 countries with a diverse range of disabilities, identities, and talents. Together, we’re shaping the future of documentary filmmaking.

You can join by completing the short membership questionnaire below to become a part of our Google Group listserv and our database of active filmmakers with disabilities. Alternatively, you can respond to a few questions on our Facebook group.

Who can join?

We welcome individuals who self-identify as persons with disabilities and as documentary filmmakers or film industry stakeholders, including allies committed to supporting our community’s goals. 

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Only FWD-Doc staff have access to your personal information. We do not share your details without your permission.

What are the benefits of membership?

Once your request is processed, you can participate in our community platforms via Google Group and/or Facebook, pitch or respond to collaboration opportunities, join exclusive virtual and in-person events, receive curated invitations to paid opportunities, and be part of a growing network advocating for accessibility and disability representation in media. 

How much does it cost?

Membership is completely free — forever.
